Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hopes India Continues the Legacy of Indonesia's G20 Presidency

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Arsjad Rasjid, hopes that India will continue the legacy of Indonesia's G20 Presidency, which was produced at the meeting in Bali later.

This was conveyed by Arsjad Rasjid when leading a delegation accompanied by the Indonesian Ambassador to India Ina Hagniningtyas Krisnamurthi to meet the Chair of the G20 India Sherpa Amitabh Kant in New Delhi, India.

"We conveyed to the Indian G20 Sherpa Chair the purpose of our visit, which is to ensure that the leadership transition for the next G20 Presidency goes smoothly, and we hope that there will be continuity of the G20 in Bali and India later. We also hope that Prime Minister Modi can witness the handover of the G20 leadership later in Bali", said Arsjad as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 12.

As a country that will continue the baton as the G20 Presidency after Indonesia, said Arsjad, India is expected to continue its agendas related to a green transition, economic inclusivity, and equitable access to health in continuing a sustainable economic and global recovery.

Indonesia, India, and Italy have formed a joint G20 leadership called the troika.

Italy was the previous host of the G20, Indonesia is the current host, and India is the host of the G20 in 2023.

The Troika was formed to ensure the continuity of the commitments of the G20 countries.

Amitabh Kant in his statement to the Kadin delegation said, as part of the troika leadership, his party fully understands Indonesia's struggle to leave a strong legacy at the G20 and B20 summits in Bali.

"We will continue the legacy that Indonesia has fought for. Don't worry", he said

B20 Indonesia has four legacy programs in three main focus areas, namely the green transition, economic inclusivity through digitalization, and equitable access to health.

For the green transition, the legacy that will be prepared is the Carbon Center of Excellence as a Knowledge Sharing Hub and Practice Sharing Hub.

The platform is a guide for the business world in gaining an understanding of the issue of carbon trading, through knowledge hubs and practice-sharing centers.

For inclusive growth and digitization, the B20 Wiki has been built, as a support system for MSMEs through Wiki Learn, Wiki Do, and Wiki Scale.

In addition, Kadin Indonesia has also launched several initiatives to empower, educate, and accelerate digital literacy for businesses and MSMEs through the WikiWirausaha platform.

The issue of inclusivity is focused on the One Global Women Empowerment (OGWE) initiative.

The OGWE Initiative is a strategic platform dedicated to meeting the goal of supporting the improvement of MSMEs, especially those owned by women.

In addition, it is also aimed at nurturing digital leadership by women and promoting a safe and non-discriminatory workplace.

As for health, there is a legacy Global One Shoot Campaign, which aims to provide relevant infrastructure for mitigating future health crises through the involvement of global businesses in providing access to vaccines, clinical research, and big data for disease monitoring.

In India, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's delegation will hold several meetings, including the B20 Global Dialogue which will present B20 India, representatives of Indian industry and entrepreneurs from CII and FICCI, as well as high-level meetings with several investors from India.
