JAKARTA - The Indonesian badminton mixed doubles pair Hafiz Faizal and Melati Daeva Oktavianti managed to advance to the last 16 of the Indonesia International Challenge 2022 which will be held 11-16 October 2022 in Malang City, East Java.

Hafiz and Melati advanced to the last 16 of the Indonesia International Challenge 2022 after defeating the Taipei Chinese pair, Chen Cheng Yu and Hsieh Yu Ying with a score of 21-8 and 21-11.

"Maybe we can play normally, but from the opponent there are many deaths (steps) ourselves, so it's easier for us," said Hafiz, quoted by Antara, Wednesday.

Hafiz explained that one of the obstacles faced in the match was only a slightly disturbing wind problem. However, these obstacles did not cause problems in his appearance with Melati.

According to him, even though he had just been paired with Melati, he admitted that he had not had many difficulties. Moreover, the two have often practiced together since they were still at the Cipayung National Training Center some time ago.

"We have practiced together a lot before, it's just a matter of communication in the field," he said.

Meanwhile, Melati added, currently she and Hafiz will focus on each match that will be played. To prepare for the round of 16, he will try to maintain conditions, while the game will be adjusted on the field.

"Take care of the conditions for tomorrow, secondly, for the game, we'll just try to be normal first. Tomorrow, because we've never met the opponent, so we'll see on the field what it's like," he said.
