The National Police Now Joint The National Football League Security Rules

JAKARTA - The National Police Headquarters has compiled a regional police regulation (perkap) as the basis for securing football league matches in Indonesia.

Deputy Commander of the Brimob Corps (Wadanankorbrimob) of the National Police Inspector General Setyo Boedi Moempoeni Harso, during a coordination meeting at the Wisma Auditorium of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, explained that the regulation was made as a form of evaluation of the tragedy of Kanjuruhan, Malang Regency, East Java, some time ago.

"The National Police since this incident has received instructions from the National Police Chief (General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo) to make products (laws) that serve as material for a regulation as a basis for security issues," said Setyo, Wednesday, October 12, quoted from Antara.

The implementation of the legal product will follow the rules issued by the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI).

According to Setyo, the results of the meeting were the Police and related parties, both match organizers, supporters, and relevant stakeholders, agreed to thoroughly evaluate the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium.

On that occasion, Setyo also expressed his gratitude to the football supporters who were also present at the coordination meeting and provided input.

This input is a reference in formulating rules that will later become the grip of the Police, organizers, and regional units that have stadiums for soccer competitions.

"With the input given, so that this product will be the basis for the Police to carry out the implementation security carried out by PSSI," said Setyo.

The riots after the match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya, with a final score of 2-3, at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, occurred on Saturday (1/10). The riot was triggered by Arema FC's defeat which caused a number of Arema supporters to fall and enter the field area.

Based on the latest data, 132 people died in the Kanjuruhan tragedy, while 506 people suffered minor injuries, and 23 others were seriously injured.

In the Kanjuruhan tragedy, the National Police have named six suspects, namely three people from the private sector and three members from the National Police.

Three suspects from civilian elements are the President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) Ahmad Hadian Lukita, Chairman of the Implementing Committee Arema Malang Abdul Haris, and security officer Steward Suko Sutrisno. All three are suspected of violating the provisions of Article 359 and/or Article 360 and/or Article 103 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 52 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2022 concerning Sports.

Meanwhile, the three suspects from the police are the Head of the Ops Division of the Malang Police, Kompol Wahyu Setyo Pranoto, Head of Samapta Malang Police AKP Bambang Sidik Achmadi, and the Commander of the Brimob Company of the East Java Police AKP Hasdarman. They are suspected of violating Article 359 and/or Article 360 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

In addition, there are 20 Polri personnel suspected of being involved in ethical violations related to the incident that occurred at the Malang Kanjuruhan Stadium.
