3,200 Joint Personnel For Today's Demonstration Action In Central Jakarta
JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Metro Police have alerted 3,200 joint police personnel, TNI and the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) to secure demonstrations at a number of points in Central Jakarta.
"3,200 joint personnel, starting from the TNI, Polri, and Satpol PP, have been prepared for several locations for today's protest action," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Komarudin in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 11.
Komarudin said this Wednesday there were several demonstration points, namely at the House of Representatives (DPR), DKI Jakarta City Hall, but related to fuel oil (BBM) there were only Horse Statues, Monas, Central Jakarta (Jakpus).
He said that the act of expressing opinions was carried out by workers to express their opinion on the increase in fuel at the Horse Statue, Monas, Central Jakarta.
Komarudin suggested conveying aspirations in the Horse Statue area, Monas, to be carried out at the Southwest Gate of Monas.
"It is better to convey it at the Southwest Door of Monas so that there is no closure of roads," he said.
Komarudin continued, but if the public is not pleased at the location, then the choice is in front of the Sapta Pesona Building so that traffic diversion cannot be avoided.
"We will divert the flow of traffic from the direction of the Palace and Merdeka Barat will be closed to prevent things that are not desirable," he said.
The closure of Jalan Merdeka Barat will be diverted to Jalan Budi Kemuliaan and Merdeka Selatan as well as several other roads.
Then, related to the closure or diversion of traffic flow, currently there has not been a closure.
Komarudin appealed to protesters to express their aspirations in an orderly manner and stay away from anarchic attitude.
"The right to express opinions is the right of every citizen and is protected by law, but of course, must pay attention to the interests of other people," he said.
He also hoped that the protesters would not be easily provoked.
"I urge you to convey your aspirations in an orderly, safe manner and obey the applicable laws and regulations and hopefully other community activities can run smoothly," he said.
