When Its Competitive Declines, Apple Instead Makes An Improvement In Macbook Sales

JAKARTA - Apple has been known for its qualified products, no doubt every year the company continues to experience positive growth.

According to a recent report from research firm Canalys, Personal Computer (PC) shipments have decreased worldwide in the third quarter (Q3) of this year by around 18 percent.

However, in contrast to Apple, the company was found to have experienced positive growth from year to year (YoY) with 1.7 percent.

Begtiu juga laporan yang diterbitkan oleh IDC, di mana saat penjualan PC turun di seluruh dunia lebih dari 15 persen, Apple justru mengalami peningkatan pengiriman sebesar 40 persen.

Meanwhile, Gartner also reported that PC shipments worldwide fell 19.6 percent, once again with comparable losses for competitors, but with the huge difference between the two research companies, Gartner found Apple dropping 15.6 percent from YoY.

Reporting from TechCrunch, Tuesday, October 11, the overall figure of the decline was likely caused by an unstable global macroeconomic and geopolitical situation.

It is also thought that demand is weaker than education and IT. While supply chain issues appear to have been resolved slightly, as slow sales have resulted in increased supplies for many manufacturers.

Unlike Apple, it seems that the Cupertino, US-based company is experiencing an increase in sales of MacBook and MacBook Air with new chips made specifically for their machines, namely the M1 and M2.

IDC Jitesh Ubrani analysts said that the easing of production in China due to the end of COVID-19 lockdowns and price reductions in older models made Apple's revenue increase.

It is difficult to talk to a report (Canalys). From our point of view, Apple's Q2 figures were harmed by the lockdown in China and as a result, production increased in Q3. In addition, there are also many promotions of M1-based products that also encourage volume, said Ubrani.

Canalys said the same thing in his report. The company stated that Apple enjoyed a better quarter than its competitors because it fulfilled orders from Q2 that were delayed due to supply disruptions in China and launched a new Macbook M2.

Macbook M2 sold well with 8.0 million units, a simple increase from YoY of 2 percent. Overall Canalys reported total PC sales of 69.4 million units with IDC reporting 74.2 million and Gartner being in the middle with 67.9 million.
