WhatsApp Groups Can Immediately Accommodate 1,024 Participants
JAKARTA - The WhatsApp group will soon be able to accommodate more than 1000 participants, an increase from the previous one that could only accommodate 512 participants.
The WABetaInfo report stated that the Meta messaging application once again doubled the number of participants for a group to 1,024 people.
Currently, the new capability is still in beta testing. But it can be assumed that the feature will be released more widely soon.
With these seemingly small changes, WhatsApp is one step closer to Telegram, which allows users to fill a large group of up to 200,000 people.
Having so many people in group chats is more useful for more companies or broadcasts, where users want to send information to multiple people but they don't have to reply.
However, such a large group is not much use if it can't manage it properly. Therefore, WABetaInfo also claims WhatsApp is working on a new tool that gives admins more ways to deal with large groups.
Launching Mashable, Tuesday, October 11, the new tool includes a manual membership approval system and shows a delayed list of group participants, allowing group admins to see everyone who asked to join the group and approve everything at once.
Previously, the WhatsApp group limit could only accommodate 256 people, unfortunately many users were constrained when they wanted to create a large group.
Then in May, the company increased the group size to 512 people and added the ability to share files to 2GB sizes. And now, the number of group participants has doubled again. It is not known for sure when this new feature will immediately roll out to the public.
