Ministry Of Transportation Tawari Private Parties To Operate Six Type A Terminals In Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) offers the private sector to operate six Type A terminals in Indonesia. The six terminals are the Entrop Type A Passenger Terminal in Jayapura; Anak Air in Padang; Guntur Melati in Garut; Bulupitu in Purwokerto; Mangkang in Semarang; and Tirtonadi in Solo.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, in virtually opening the Investor Gathering activity "New Terminal, New Experience" which took place at the Mangkang Type A Passenger Terminal, Semarang, Tuesday, December 1.
"Our private involvement is carried out to further improve land transportation services. In addition, it is also in the effort to restore the National Economy, by paying special attention to the aspect of job creation, and encouraging micro, small, medium and large businesses to get up and move," said the Minister Budi.
Minister of Transportation Budi also expressed his appreciation to the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Regional Government, investors, and MSME players who participated in providing support for government projects, especially cooperation in the type A terminal in several cities.
"The Central Government must synergize with the Regional Government to continue to improve and fix terminal services so as to provide comfort and safety to transportation users. We want type A terminal services to be as good as airports so we pay attention to this seriously," he explained.
The same thing was conveyed by Director General of Land Transportation Budi Setiyadi who wanted to encourage investors from BUMN, associations, private companies in the fields of construction, IT, Building Management, retail and hospitality, MSMEs, PO Buses, Provincial Governments, Regency / City Governments, to invest in existing terminals.
There are also forms of business that can be cooperated, such as building hotels, malls, gyms, sports centers, culinary delights and so on in the terminal area.
"By carrying out the concept of the New Terminal New Experience, the presence of this modern terminal can create a new generation, so that it can support the national economic recovery," said Budi Setiyadi.
The Ministry of Transportation continues to strive to improve safety and security aspects and improve service quality through construction and among others the Revitalization of Passenger Terminals.
This is also in line with the development of the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concept that is being pushed by the Government, namely an urban development concept that maximizes the number of residential spaces, business areas and entertainment venues with a short distance from public transportation access.
