Update On COVID-19 As Of December 2: New Cases 5,533, Accumulated Cases Of 549,508
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 58,245 specimens were examined with the results of 5,533 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 549,508 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, December 2.
Cases recovered today increased by 4,001, so that a total of 458,880 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 118 people and a total of 17,199 people.
The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,166 new cases and a total of 139,085 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by Central Java, which has 944 new cases with a total of 57,570 cases. West Java has 764 new cases and a total of 54,159 cases. Then, East Java has 460 new cases and a total of 62,773 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,061 cases recovered. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 606 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 397 recovered cases, and West Java with an increase of 386 recovered cases.
Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Maluku and Aceh.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 5,805,224. In detail, a total of 5,701,924 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 103,300 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.1 percent," he wrote.
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was 71,074 people. Currently, 507 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
