Rizieq Shihab To Be Examined By The Police Regarding The Crowd, Gatot Nurmantyo: If The Country Is Fair, Check Everything

JAKARTA - The Presidium of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (WE), Gatot Nurmantyo, asked the government to be fair in examining violations of health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic in the form of crowds.

Gatot said that the police should not carry out any complex checks only on the case of organizing the Prophet's birthday event which was held by FPI leader Muhammad Rizieq Shihab.

"Regarding the examination of Habib Rizieq, if this country is indeed just and truly civilized, then check all the people gathering," said Gatot at the 212 Reunion program broadcast on Youtube Front TV, Wednesday, November 2.

This injustice, according to Gatot, is also happening in Papua. Currently, West Papua is facing conflict as West Papuan leaders are reported to have declared a government.

The declaration comes as the United Nations (UN) says West Papua is being plagued by increased violence, including the murder of a child allegedly carried out by security forces.

According to Gatot, if the government does not act fairly, then Papua will not experience conflict. "They declared independence because they were frustrated. If there is justice, they are protected and treated the same, then this (conflict) will not be possible," said Gatot.

Therefore, Gatot admits he supports the moral revolution movement echoed by Rizieq Shihab. According to him, Rizieq's version of the moral revolution is in line with OUR ideology.

"I really respect the moral revolution. This is an idea that is in line with US implementing a moral movement. I think this is a synergy with the components of the nation for the same goal," he said.
