Witness: Attorney Pinangki Objection To Report PPATK When Buying A BMW X-5 For IDR 1.7 Billion

JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) presents the Sales Center of PT. Astra, Yeni Pratiwi as a witness in the trial of the alleged gratification of the Supreme Court (MA) fatwa arrangement with the accused prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari.

During the trial, Yeni said that Pinangki bought a BMW X-5 worth IDR1.709 billion in cash gradually. Pinangki paid a down payment of IDR 25 million.

At least in settling luxury car bills, Pinangki made four payments. The first payment was made on 5 December 2019 in the amount of Rp. 475 million.

Then 9 December 2019, amounting to Rp.490 million. On December 13, the amount was IDR490 million and finally IDR129 million.

"Yes (cash payment) plus insurance costs of Rp. 31 million and progressive tax of Rp. 10, 6 million," Yeni said at the trial at the Corruption Court in Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 2.

In addition, in front of the panel of judges, Yeni also explained that Pinangki had not reported the purchase of the BMW X-5 to the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).

This is known because Yeni had offered Pinangki to fill out the reporting form. However, Pinangki refused the offer.

"The defendant objected (filling in the PPATK reporting form). I only asked, 'Is there a PPATK form, do you want it to be filled in or not?' 'Not.' "Oh, it's okay," he said.

Attorney Pinangki's BMW X-5 car was confiscated as evidence in the case. This is because the car was allegedly bought using proceeds from crime.

Later in this case, prosecutor Pinangki was charged with three counts, namely the first charge of receiving a bribe of 500,000 US dollars (around Rp7.4 billion) from the convicted Bank Bali cessie case Djoko Soegiarto Tjandra.

Second, the money laundering charges originating from the receipt of bribes amounting to 444,900 dollars or around Rp. 6,219,380,900.00 as money given by Djoko Tjandra for processing fatwas to the Supreme Court.

Third, Pinangki was charged with committing an evil conspiracy with Andi Irfan Jaya and Djoko Tjandra to bribe officials at the AGO and MA worth US $ 10 million.
