The Experience Of Being A Provincial Government Officer Is Called Help Heru Makes Work Easy As A Acting Governor Of DKI

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has chosen the Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres) Heru Budi Hartono as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta for the next two years.

Heru is not new to the scope of government in Jakarta. He started his career in 1993 by becoming a Civil Servant (PNS) with the position of Special Staff of the Mayor of North Jakarta.

Heru Budi has also occupied a number of important positions. For example, in 2014, Jokowi, who was then the Governor of DKI Jakarta, appointed him as Mayor of North Jakarta. After that he was appointed Head of DKI BPKAD in 2015.

According to the chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gembong Warsono, Heru's experience in Jakarta will help him in leading, and resolve various problems that exist in the capital city.

"His background in the DKI Provincial Government is very helpful in the context of carrying out his main duties and functions as (Pj) Governor. Pak Heru's background as mayor will be a strong foundation for carrying out his duties," said Gembong when contacted, Sunday, October 9.

In addition to his experience in Jakarta, Heru is also a person close to President Joko Widodo. This can be seen from his position as Jokowi'spres since 2017 until now.

This position, considered by Gembong, helps facilitate coordination between the DKI Provincial Government and the central government.

"Mr. Heru's background as Kasatpres, then it will strengthen, strengthen, strengthen Pak Heru's foundation in building coordination and communication with all stakeholders. So I think Pak Heru's experience is very complete to be able to carry out the duties of the Acting Governor in the future," explained Gembong.

As is known, Jokowi has appointed Heru Budi Hartono as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. This was decided by Jokowi in a meeting of the Final Assessment Team (TPA) which was chaired directly by Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace, some time ago.

Before being elected, there were three names of candidates for the Acting Governor of DKI proposed by the DKI Jakarta DPRD. Apart from Heru, the names of the previously proposed Acting Governor were DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary Marullah Matali and Director General of Polpum Kemendagri Bahtiar.
