KPK Opens Opportunities For Trapping PT ACK In The Case Of Edhy Prabowo's Benur Export Bribes

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) opens an opportunity to ensnare PT Aero Citra Kargo (ACK), which is the sole company sending shrimp fries or lobster seeds, as a suspect in corporate corruption.

This was conveyed by the Acting Spokesperson of the KPK in the field of prosecution Ali Fikri to respond to PT ACK's involvement in the alleged bribery case related to the export of fries or lobster seeds that ensnared the inactive Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo.

"If sufficient preliminary evidence is found, the KPK will not hesitate to determine another party as a suspect in this case. Including if there is an alleged involvement of the corporation," Ali said in a written statement to reporters, Wednesday, December 2.

He said that at this time, KPK investigators were still investigating a number of witnesses who were aware of the actions of the seven suspects in the alleged corruption. Furthermore, this anti-corruption commission will carry out an analysis of the information they get.

"Including an analysis of the possibility of implementing the TPPU (Money Laundering) article," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK conducted a search at the PT ACK office in West Jakarta on Monday, November 30.

After the search, a number of evidence related to the bribery case for the export of fries and lobster seeds was brought by KPK investigators. As for the evidence found in the form of documents and other electronic evidence, however, the KPK did not specify them.

This evidence will be investigated and analyzed by the anti-graft commission investigators and searches in other locations will still be carried out.

In addition, the KPK investigating team has also conducted a search at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) office. As a result, the KPK at that time confiscated rupiah cash and foreign currency whose nominal values were not stated and a number of documents.

Regarding the suspicion of bribery for the export of fry, Edhy is said to have received a bribe of Rp. 3.4 billion, of which Rp. 750 million was used to buy luxury goods in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. The items he bought included bags, clothes, luxury Rolex watches, and bicycles.

In this case, Edhy Prabowo was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with five other people, namely: Stafsus Minister of KKP Safri (SAF) and Andreau Pribadi Misanta (APM); Management of PT Aero Citra Kargo (PT ACK) Siswadi (SWD); The staff of the wife of the Minister of KKP, Ainul Faqih, and Amiril Mukminin (AM).

Meanwhile, the giver of the bribe was the Director of PT Dua Putra Perkasa Pratama (PT DPPP) Suharjito (SJT).

Edhy Prabowo and a number of suspects were arrested by the KPK prosecution team at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang upon arrival from Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. Edhy and other suspects were immediately detained by the KPK.
