BOGOR - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) appealed to residents of Bogor City to be prepared to face heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that occurred on Friday, October 7.

Head of BPBD Theofilo Patrocinio Freitas said his party also asked residents of Bogor City to be aware of the impact of disasters.

"Such as the BMKG forecast in Bogor City since this morning it has been cloudy, and currently it is raining heavily and strong winds, Bogor residents are advised not to travel outside their homes for personal safety," said Theofilo in Bogor City, West Java, quoted from Antara, Friday 7 October.

Theofilo said that residents should stay at home, or the office building by paying attention to the left and right of the building during heavy rain, strong winds accompanied by lightning on Friday, October 7 afternoon.

Meanwhile, for people in the city of Bogor who are already on their way to stay away from big trees to avoid falling trees.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning that moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds hit the Puncak area, Cisarua District, Bogor Regency extended to other areas of Bogor Regency, Thousand Islands, some other areas of Jakarta and Bogor City.

This condition is estimated to start at 12.15 WIB and is expected to last until 15.15 WIB on Friday 7 October.

"Pay attention to personal safety, immediately find a safe place if you are close to a large tree to stay away. The weather is uncertain, public awareness of him is the main key," he said.

Theofilo said that the Bogor area has many large trees that are shady on the side of the road and may collapse when heavy rains are accompanied by strong winds.

In addition, landslides, buildings collapse due to lack of strength, also often occur during heavy rains.

"Although the number is not large, disaster alerts must still be carried out by all parties, including residents. We BPBD are also ready to reach the location of potential disasters," he said.
