If The 212 Reunion Still Held, The National Police: No Story, We Disband
JAKARTA - The National Police emphasized that they would take steps to dissolve them if the 212 reunion was still held at the National Monument (Monas) area on December 2. This is because it is still in a COVID-19 pandemic situation.
"The National Police will take firm action if there are still people who want to crowd, we will disband," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, to reporters, Tuesday, December 1.
Awi emphasized that his party remains in the position of not giving permission to the crowd in any form. Because, crowded events will cause the transmission of COVID-19.
"It is clear several times we have said we will not issue the permit and of course we will anticipate it and we remind those who still want it to do so, don't hope," said Awi.
Furthermore, Awi emphasized that the not issuing a crowd permit was not only at the 212 reunion event. All activities that have the potential to crowd will also not get permission.
"In essence, we have said that we have never given permission for reunions, let alone a crowd permit," said Awi.
