As A Result Of The Malangan Tragedy, FIFA Will Accompanie PSSI For The National Football System

JAKARTA - The tragedy in the Malang Village on October 1 has received the attention of the World Football Federation (FIFA). FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, has expressed his condolences for the sad incident.

The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) continues to communicate with FIFA regarding this tragedy. PSSI General Chair Mochammad Iriawan said FIFA gave a positive response.

He also stated that FIFA will provide assistance for improving the football system in Indonesia.

"First, of course, I express my condolences. Second, FIFA will provide assistance to improve all Indonesian football systems, both security, supporters and others," said Iriawan, as reported by Antara.

Previously, President Joko Widodo had ordered the relevant parties, including PSSI, to improve national football governance. He also mentioned that FIFA expressed its readiness to help improve governance.

"I think we really need to evaluate everything, both match management, stadium management, audience management, time management, security management. Everything must be evaluated completely so that this incident that occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium does not happen again, everything is clear," said President Jokowi on the presidential website.go.id.

As previously reported, the tragedy at Kanjuruhan Malang occurred after Arema FC's match against Persebaya Surabaya with a final score of 2-3 at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency.

Based on data from the Malang District Health Office, 131 people died as a result of the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java. Meanwhile, 440 people suffered minor injuries and 29 people were seriously injured.
