Although Not Ordered By Jokowi, Wantimpres Came To The Kanjuruhan Collection Of Primary Data For The President
JAKARTA - The Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) has prepared primary data to be submitted to President Joko Widodo regarding the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java, which claimed 131 lives.
Wantimpres member Soekarwo said his party was collecting primary data from the crime scene (TKP) to later be used as input to President Jokowi.
"Requested or not, we have to provide input to the President. One of them is, for what kind of primary data in the field," said Wantimpres member Soekarwo at the scene, Thursday, October 6.
Soekarwo explained that the tragedy that occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium after the match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya was a big tragedy and became the attention of the international community.
According to him, currently the relevant parties are investigating the incident that claimed 131 lives, although they are still in a state of mourning. There is no specific instruction from President Jokowi, but the thing that is emphasized is that the tragedy must be explained clearly and fairly.
"There are no instructions, but based on the President's speech, it must be clear and fair and it has been held at the Wantimpres," he said as quoted by Antara.
On that occasion, Soekarwo, who was accompanied by the Regent of Malang M Sanusi, checked a number of points that were the locations for the tragedy. Soekarwo directly checked the door areas of 13 and 14 Kanjuruhan Stadium.
On Saturday (1/10), there was a riot after the match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya with a final score of 2-3 at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency. The defeat caused a number of supporters to drop and enter the field area.
The riots grew bigger where a number of flares were thrown including other objects. Joint security officers from the police and the TNI tried to dispel the fans and eventually used tear gas.
Based on data from the Malang District Health Office, 131 people died as a result of the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java, while 440 people suffered minor injuries and 29 people were seriously injured.
