Make Sure To Follow Up On The President's Direction In The Aftermath Of The Judicial Tragedy, PSSI Chairman: I Will Report Any Developments
JAKARTA - The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has confirmed that it will follow up on President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s direction regarding the evaluation of football matches after the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java. PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan said the evaluation was carried out in addition to revealing the root of the tragedy problem, as well as to improve PSSI management, so that incidents that resulted in casualties no longer occur. "Every development (evaluation) that exists, I will report it to the President," said Iriawan, quoted by Antara, Thursday.
The man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule said the President gave directions for a total evaluation including match management, stadiums, spectators, security time and management.
In addition, according to him, the President also ordered his party to thoroughly investigate, including the evaluation of the implementation of matches in the future. Previously, Jokowi ordered an audit of all soccer stadiums in Indonesia to prevent the recurrence of the Kanjuruhan tragedy, when he visited the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, last Wednesday. Jokowi accompanied by Mrs. Iriana visited Saiful Anwar Hospital, Malang City, East Java, to see the condition of the survivors in the soccer tragedy on October 1, 2022.
