Sri Mulyani Targets 50 Million MSMEs To Enter A Digital Ecosystem At The End Of Jokowi's Government
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the government continues to encourage digitalization of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
According to him, until the end of the first semester of 2022 there were 19.5 million MSMEs that had entered the digital ecosystem.
"Meanwhile, in 2024 (the end of President Jokowi's administration), it is targeted that Indonesia has 50 million MSMEs that enter the digital ecosystem," he said in a written statement quoted on Thursday, October 6.
According to the Minister of Finance, digitalization can play an important role in supporting financial inclusion. It was stated that digitalization is a key component for us to achieve the target, namely related to access to financing, payment, bookkeeping, and digital marketing have been introduced to MSMEs.
The program owned by the Ministry of Finance is to encourage access to financing and digitization in MSMEs, namely through MSME Financing Empowerment (U-Fine). With this program, MSMEs can apply for government program credit using the internet," he said.
In addition, the state treasurer also revealed that virtual channels can also increase the business capacity of MSMEs, both in terms of licensing, network access, promotion, and market access to create a superior business sector.
"The implementation of the program is carried out by introducing payment financing, bookkeeping, and digital marketing to MSMEs," he said.
For information, the Ministry of Finance has developed a digipay market. Through the digipay marketplace, the government seeks to develop a path to the MSME empowerment ecosystem through collaboration with many stakeholders.
"Obviously digitalization still has a lot of room to develop further," he added.
The Minister of Finance hopes that digitalization can provide big data and then become an analysis material by MSME actors to develop their products and services.
"The analysis is to find out consumer behavior will definitely be very important, besides that it can also provide innovation which can then increase the reach and results," closed the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
