Sandiaga Uno Asks For Tourism In Indonesia Only Even Though The Passport Approval Period Is Increasingly Long
JAKARTA - Criticism from President Joko Widodo against Immigration has resulted in a big decision, now passports can be used for up to 10 years.
It doesn't end there. Immigration also stipulates that the management in making residence permit cards (KITAS) is accelerated. From the previous 2 weeks, now it only takes 2 days.
Nevertheless, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno revealed that he would still ask the Indonesian people to travel domestically. The invitation also went hand in hand with what President Jokowi had hoped.
"The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy also welcomes President Jokowi's invitation so that local governments promote domestic tourism because Indonesia has many interesting tourist areas, such as Bali, Labuan Bajo, Wakatobi, Toba, Raja Ampat, Bromo, Yogyakarta, Bangka Belitung, Borobudur, Jakarta, and others," said Sandiaga, Wednesday, October 5.
"In a global crisis situation like today, President Jokowi hopes that people will not flock abroad so that it has the potential to trigger a deficit in the tourism sector, considering that the number of foreign tourists who come has not increased," he said.
"By traveling domestically, we also support the economic revival of the community because tourism has proven to be a sector that has a high multiplier effect," he concluded.
