Electric Cars Become Operational Vehicles Of The G20 Summit, PLN Prepares 66 SPKLU
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has ensured the readiness of 66 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) to support the operation of electric vehicles to be used at the peak of the G20 Summit in Bali.
This SPKLU has spread across strategic areas to make it easier for delegates to attend the G20 Summit.
Secretary of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (KBUMN) Susyanto on a direct visit to the SPKLU at the Apurva Kempinski Parking Hotel stated that the provision of 66 SPKLUs was part of the support of SOEs, in this case PLN, for the implementation of the G20 Summit.
He saw that the preparations made by PLN were in line with the target, including the addition of power for the reliability of electricity supply in Bali.
For this SPKLU, we have an average of 99 percent, and the remaining 1 percent in the middle of this month will all be completed. PLN has also multiplied electricity security in Bali. So for the buffer for the G20 event, God willing, it will be safe," said Susyanto in his statement, Wednesday, October 5.
Susyanto is optimistic that the additional electrical power of up to 1,422 MW and the preparation of 1,079 personnel from PLN for the G20 event in Bali will run smoothly. He fully supports PLN's preparation because this agenda brings Indonesia's name to an international event.
The role of PLN is very important here. As requested by the President, we will use electric cars during this event. This means that the world can see that Indonesia is advanced and we will continue to encourage this because electric cars also reduce pollution," he explained.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo ensured PLN's readiness to support this grand event. He said that the construction of this SPKLU is a manifestation of PLN's commitment to the success of the G20 Summit and run an energy transition program in Indonesia.
"In the context of this year's G20 Summit Presidency, PLN supports the government by preparing all infrastructure and also electric-based operational vehicles as a showcase for reducing carbon emissions," said Darmawan.
The presence of these 66 SPKLUs will support the operations of 636 units of electric cars and 30 units of electric buses that will be used by delegates.
In addition, 290 units of electric motors for security and 300 units of electric cars for operations during the G20 Summit.
Darmawan explained that the 66 SPKLU units provided by PLN were Ultra Fast Charging.
With details of 64 units already installed, and 2 units for mobile. There are also 200 Home Charging units spread throughout Bali Province.
SPKLU Ultra Fast Charging has a number of advantages. Charging the battery from a vacant position only takes 15-30 minutes.
Not only that, the SPKLU with a power of 200 kilo Watt (kW) is also equipped with the Simultan Charger feature so that it can fill 2 vehicles simultaneously.
"This G20 Summit is an international event that is in the spotlight of the world. For this reason, PLN has prepared very carefully and mobilized all efforts to make the G20 Presidency a success," he said.
