Anies Working From Home Due To COVID-19, Moeldoko: Governors Can Lead From Anywhere
JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko admitted that there is no problem with DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan working from home due to independent isolation due to being exposed to COVID-19.
Likewise, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria also carried out self-quarantine because it was confirmed positive a few days ago.
According to Moeldolo, a regional head can lead an area from anywhere. Because, currently, a job can be supported by the application of technology.
"With the existing communication access, I think a commander, a governor can lead from anywhere," said Moeldoko at the Presidential Staff Office, Tuesday, December 1.
Moeldoko said local governments could still carry out their duties effectively, because there were leadership methods that had to be carried out.
"The effectiveness will be seen later. In my opinion, while it can still run well," he said.
This morning Anies Baswedan announced he was positive for COVID-19. Even though he is currently recovering, Anies said he would continue to lead Jakarta from home.
"I will continue to work from home, virtually, lead meetings virtually," Anies said in his statement
Anies claims government affairs as long as he is positive for COVID-19 will not be a problem. Although, currently DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria is also currently positive for COVID-19.
"Since March, he has been accustomed to working virtually and God willing, there will be no disruption in the decision-making process and government," he said.
Currently, Anies admits that his condition is good and is in the category of people without symptoms (OTG) COVID-19. After consulting with the doctor, I underwent self-isolation and followed the medical procedure prescribed by the medical team.
"Isolation independently in the official residence, where I will live alone, while the family will continue to live in the private house that we live in," said Anies.
