Croatian PM Andrej Plenkovic Positive For COVID-19
JAKARTA - Croatian Prime Minister (PM) Andrej Plenkovic tested positive for COVID-19. The results were obtained after Andrej conducted tests on the recommendation of an epidemiologist. Two days earlier, Andrej's wife first contracted the corona virus.
"The Prime Minister is currently feeling well and continues to carry out his activities and responsibilities from home and will follow all the instructions of doctors and epidemiologists," said Marko Milić, a government spokesman, quoted by Euronews, Tuesday, December 1.
After finding out that his wife was positive for COVID-19, Andrej had isolated himself for two days. However, based on the positive results, Andrej extended his quarantine period to ten days.
Andrej is not the first Croatian official to contract COVID-19. Previously, Health Minister Krosia Vili Beros was the first elite official in Croatia to contract COVID-19.
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit many sectors in Croatia. Health, for example. Nearly 1,400 doctors have contracted COVID-19. Meanwhile, nearly a thousand other health workers were isolated independently.
So far Croatia has confirmed 126,612 cases of COVID-19 transmission. Among them, there were 1,712 deaths.
