Demonstration Demanding Free Papua, 15 Students In Sinjai Sulsel Arrested By Police

MAKASSAR - The police arrested 15 students who held an independent Papua demonstration in Sinjai Regency, South Sulawesi. One person secured, woman.

"Approximately 15 people consisting of 14 men and 1 woman," said Sinjai Police Chief AKBP Iwan Irmawan, contacted by VOI, Monday, December 1.

Iwan said the demonstration for an independent Papua was carried out by a number of students from Sinjai Regency around the Sinjai Bersatu Monument.

"They demanded from the Papuan Solidarity Movement (GSP) student alliance whose demand was Papuan independence," said Iwan.

Because of the oration about an independent Papua, the students were taken to the police station. When oni they were still being questioned.

"Still temporarily questioning (by) the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sinjai Police," said Iwan.
