Government Add Subsidized Fuel Quota, Pertalite So 29 Million KL, Solar 17.4 Million KL

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has ensured that there will be additional subsidized fuel quotas such as Solar and Pertalite.

Thus, the pertalite quota for 2022 is 29 million kiloliters (KL) from the previous 23.05 (KL) and SOlars, which previously amounted to 15 million KL to 17 million KL.

Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji, in his short message said that the addition of this quota aims to ensure subsidized fuel supply due to a surge in consumption.

"There is an increase in quota to ensure availability for the community," he told VOI, Monday, October 3.

Based on data from Pertamina, Pertalite distribution until August has reached 19.5 million KL or reached 83 percent of the total quota for 2022 of 23.05 million KL.

Meanwhile, diesel distribution reached 10.9 million KL or 74 percent of the total quota of 14.9 million KL.

Head of the Oil and Gas Downstream Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) Erika Retnowati said this additional quota was carried out with consideration of increasing subsidized fuel consumption which caused the distribution quota to run low, as well as a plan to limit Pertalite buyers which will be implemented in the near future.

"This addition has been in effect since October 1," said Erika.

He asked the public to be wise in consuming subsidized fuel so that the distribution quota does not explode again.

"It is hoped that the public can save and be wise in using fuel. Those who are able to buy non-subsidized fuel should not participate in consuming subsidized fuel," he concluded.

Previously, Commission VII of the DPR RI approved the addition of a subsidized fuel quota for 2022.

Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI Sugeng Suparwoto stated the reason why the commission he led approved the addition of subsidized fuel oil quota (BBM) for 2022.

He revealed, until the first half of 2022, consumption of Pertalite type fuel experienced a significant spike of up to two-thirds of the quota set in the 2022 State Budget.

"In the 2022 State Budget, Pertalite has set 23.5 million KL, but the fact is that today it is only the first 6 months that we have almost entered two-thirds of the consumption," said Sugeng, Monday, July 4.

Untuk itu, lanjut Sugeng, Komisi VII menyetujui penambahan kuota pertalite dan solar masing-masing 5 juta KL dan 6 juta KL untuk mencegah jebolnya kuota hingga akhir tahun.
