KPAI: 83.68 Percent Of Schools Not Ready For Face-to-Face Learning
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education and Culture has allowed the opening of schools in early 2021. Unfortunately, the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) found that only 16.32 percent of schools were ready to implement face-to-face learning.
This is based on the results of KPAI's supervision of face-to-face learning preparation during the COVID-19 pandemic to 49 schools in 21 districts / cities in 8 provinces.
The provinces are East Nusa Tenggara, Bengkulu, East Java, Central Java, West Java, DI Yogyakarta, Banten, and DKI Jakarta.
"The results of the supervision show data and the fact that of the 49 schools that were directly reviewed, only 16.32 percent were ready with face-to-face learning and 83.68 percent were not ready," said KPAI Commissioner for Education, Retno Listyarti in her statement, Tuesday, 1 December.
The KPAI assessment consists of several points. In detail, of the 49 schools, only 4.08 percent of schools conducted rapid tests for all teachers / employees and students who would apply face-to-face learning. Rapid is financed by its local government.
Then, only 4.08 percent of schools have put together health protocols in the school environment, only 6.12 percent of schools have compiled 15 new habitual adaptation protocols as a whole, 93.88 percent only compiled 3 protocols.
Then, only 20.40 percent of schools have disseminated protocols to school residents and 79.60 others have not, only 8.16 percent of the Education Office has coordinated with the Health Office to prepare for opening schools, only 8.16 percent of schools have conducted community mapping schools that have uncontrolled cormobids.
Therefore, said Retno, the central and regional governments must focus on preparing health infrastructure and protocols in each school that will implement face-to-face learning.
"If schools have not been able to meet the infrastructure and protocol / SOP, then postpone opening schools," said Retno.
"The opening of the school is determined by the readiness of all parties. The area is ready, schools are ready, teachers are ready, parents are ready and students are ready. If one is not ready, then postpone opening the school even though the zone is green," he added.
