JAKARTA - The government asks the Ministry of Health to bear all costs of treatment and treatment for victims of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy, Malang Regency, East Java. The incident resulted in hundreds of injuries and 125 deaths.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD as Chairman of the Independent Joint Fact Finding Team (TGIPF) of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy said that in the near future he would provide compensation to the victims.
"The government will also immediately follow social benefits that will be carried out for one or two days on all kinds of things," Mahfud said in a virtual press conference, Monday, October 3.
To the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Mahfud said that the burden of exemption from the cost of treating and treating victims would be borne by the state. Victims are expected in recovering their health conditions without questioning the cost.
"Then the Minister of Health was asked to provide health services by not first questioning costs. Let the country, which is all treatment for the sick, need this drug, need this hospital," he said.
Mahfud emphasized that the treatment borne by the state also involves the process of restoring and healing trauma. "So that it is done properly. Including trauma healing," he added.
On the same occasion, to speed up the process of resolving this case, the TGIPF, which is commanded to work optimally. The TGIPF members come from relevant ministry officials, football sports professional organizations, observers, academics, and mass media.
However, whoever will sit as a member of the TGIPF, Mahfud asked to wait a maximum of the next 24 hours. He ensured that the TGIPF will work hard for the next 2-3 weeks to resolve the directed tragedy that occurred after the Arema FC vs Persebaya match in Surabaya on Saturday, October 1 night.
