The Story Of Sexual Workers Supported By Their Daughters To Work In The Adult Industry
JAKARTA - Charlotte Rose hid her career from her children when they were little. This 40 year old sex worker told them that she has an office job.
But her children immediately became suspicious because she worked all weekends and late at night. It wasn't until his daughter, Marie Rose, turned 12 that he came to the truth.
Annoyingly, someone threatened to expose Charlotte's work unless she gave them casual sex.
So instead of being held hostage by her secret, the mother decided to come clean. She told her children the truth - and was surprised when her daughter wasn't.
"When I was five years old, I found a magazine on top of the kitchen cupboard, where my mother did a photo shoot in a dominatrix outfit," the daughter, Marie Rose told Fabolous.
"It was hidden but I was peeking. I showed it to my brother and said 'this looks like mom, it can't be her, right?'
"We never mentioned him again but when I asked him almost a decade later, he confirmed it was him ...
"Mom told me the truth about her job when I was 12 years old and I wasn't surprised, I thought 'it's so much better than a boring office job'.
"It's good to know my hunch is right and I appreciate him finally telling me."
In an interview with FEMAIL, Marie added that sex work is much more difficult than it seems.
Not only do sex workers have to be social media savvy, they also have a pile of admins to sort out.
"It's like being a social media influencer, it's really hard, and I'm not that independent to do that kind of work."
This is why Marie herself put off joining the industry.
Conversely, social science students want to work with young people with health problems or disabilities in the future.
