Formula 1 Standings 2022 After Sergio Perez Winning Racing In Singapore: Max Verstappen Party Postponed
JAKARTA - Red Bull Racing racer, Max Verstappen, had to postpone the party to become the 2022 Formula 1 world champion. He failed to end his competition early at the Singapore GP, Sunday, October 2.
Verstappen only finished seventh in the race at the Marina Bay Circuit. This result makes the Dutchman collect 341 points.
He is 104 points adrift of Charles Leclerc who took second place. The Ferrari racer kept his hopes of making a surprise after finishing on the second podium in Singapore's GP race.
While the third position is still occupied by a Mexican racer, Sergio Perez. Verstappen's teammate in Red Bull collected 235 points.
He got an additional 25 points thanks to the victory he won during the race at the Marina Bay Circuit.
"This is my best performance (in F1). The last three laps were very intense. I gave everything to win today," Perez said after the race.
The fourth and fifth positions of the 2022 F1 drivers standings are occupied by George Russell (Mercedes GP) and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari).
