Borneo FC Takes Over The Peak Of The Standings After Gilas Madura United 3-0

JAKARTA Borneo FC topped the 2022/2023 Indonesian League 1 standings after recording an important victory over Madura United. The two teams met in the 11th week at the Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, Saturday, October 1 afternoon WIB. The hosts won through three goals scored by Matheus Pato.

The Brazilian opened the scoring for his team when the game had only been running for six minutes. He broke into the opponent's goal after maximizing Terens Puhiri's pass.

The 27-year-old footballer then doubled his lead in extra time in the first half. Jonathan Bustos' corner was well headed by Pato.

Meanwhile, his third goal was born in the middle of the second half. An additional three goals made him have collected 12 goals so far.

This victory is Borneo's seventh win of 11 matches. As for the remaining four matches, Mukson Miftahudin's squad drew twice, losing twice.

The record is the same as Madura United, who previously occupied the top position in the standings. However, this defeat made them have to be willing to go down to second position.

Borneo and Madura are currently both collecting 23 points. Both are ahead of one point from PSM Makassar in third place and Persita in fourth.

The following week, Borneo will meet the host Persija Jakarta. Meanwhile, Madura United will have a visiting team PSIS Semarang.
