Angkasa Pura I Trains Handling Emergency Situations Ahead Of The G20 Summit

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura I held the 107th Emergency Management Exercise (PKD) at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport ahead of the G20 Summit in November. The full scale or full-scale PKD exercise is intended to train and test the capabilities and alertness of all personnel as well as to test standard operating procedures when an emergency occurs at the airport."In November, Indonesia will host the G20 Summit in Bali. As the gateway, Bali Airport must always be prepared, not only in terms of facilities and services, but the most important thing is safety and security," said PT Angkasa Pura I President Director Faik Fahmi in a statement in Badung Regency, Bali, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 30.He said that ahead of the G20 Summit in Bali, all potentials at the airport and around the airport must be deployed to be ready to cope with emergencies. This right is because according to him the threat can occur anytime and anywhere and if you are a little off, it will affect airport operations."For this reason, it is necessary to be trained periodically as an anticipatory effort that will keep us always in good condition in terms of human resources, facilities and documents owned by the airport," he said.Faik Fahmi explained that in the PKD exercise, the functions of coordination, communication, command, and synchronization between airport units and community agencies will be tested. In addition to testing personnel, the PKD exercise is also an effort to test the Airport Emergency Management Document or Airport Emergency Plan (AEP), Airport Security Program Documents or Airport Security Program (ASP).Documents of the Disaster Mitigation Plan at Airport or Airport Disaster Management Plan (ADMP), Disaster Alert Airport Guidelines or Get Airport Ready Disaster (GARD), and SOPs that apply at airports. In its implementation, the PKD exercise organized by Angkasa Pura I for the first time since 2020 consists of three series of full-scale exercises, namely training for handling aircraft accidents, handling airport security threats, and handling natural disasters. The handling of the aircraft accident tested the ability of personnel and SOP documents in force when an aircraft failed during the landing process until it finally had an accident on the south side of the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport runway. In the Security Exercise, it is simulated that the hostage situation of a delegation of the G20 Summit is carried out by two Facility Care officers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.Meanwhile, in the Disaster Exercise, natural earthquake management and mitigation exercises were carried out which resulted in a number of damage to airport terminal buildings, as well as disruption of flight operations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport."The simulation of the three exercises is designed in such a way that it is close to real conditions. It is aimed at testing the capabilities and alertness of the personnel, as well as to test the applicable procedures," said Faik Fahmi.
