Only 2 Months, Circulation Of Drugs That Has Been Successfully Revealed In Riau: 43 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine And 405,527 Sanctions

JAKARTA - The Riau Police's Drug Investigation Directorate destroyed 243 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 405,527 ecstasy pills from eight cases of the international dealer network over the past 2 months.

The destruction was led by the Deputy Chief of the Riau Police Brigadier General Tabana Bangun together with the Riau Forkopimda, and the main police officer, at the Jalan Pattimura Police Headquarters, Pekanbaru, Thursday, September 29.

"The perpetrators face the death penalty, life imprisonment or imprisonment for a minimum of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years," said the Deputy Chief of Police as quoted by Antara.

Tabana explained the details of the case, among others, first handled by Sub-Directorate III of the Narcotics Directorate (According to LP/A/432/IX/2022/Spkt.Ditresnarkoba/Polda Riau dated September 11, 2022).

The amount of evidence was 99.45 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 100,000 ecstasy pills were confiscated from 10 suspects from Pekanbaru, West Sumatra, and Indragiri Hulu.

Meanwhile, the case handled by the Dumai Police (According to LP/376/A/IX/2022/Res Dumai/Riau Police, September 14, 2022), at the beachside crime scene, Bandar Laksamanak Bengkalis District managed to secure evidence of 91.86 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 304,491 ecstasy pills from suspects JU (45) from Bengkalis and RW (28) from Bengkalis.

Subdit I Ditresnarkoba (According to LP/A/436/IX/2022/Spkt.Ditresnarkoba/Polda Riau on September 12, 2022), securing the suspect from Padang, Indragiri Hulu, Bukittinggi at the TKP room No. 535 New Hollywood Hotel, Jl Kuantan Raya, Pekanbaru along with evidence of 10.75 kg of crystal methamphetamine.

Brigadier General Tabana Bangun explained that the suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"In an act of offering to sell, sell, buy, become an intermediary in buying and selling, exchanging, handing over, or receiving narcotics class I as referred to in paragraph (1) which in the form of plants weighs more than 1 (one) kilogram, the perpetrator is sentenced to death, and is sentenced to life imprisonment," he also said.

The Deputy Chief of the Riau Police invites all parties to synergize in efforts to deal with drugs to save the community.

"This drug destruction has gone through a procedure, has obtained approval from the district court, and we have agreed to destroy this illicit item together. To note that this is one of the largest in the execution of drug evidence in Riau," he also said.
