Google Add TikTok Feelings To Its Search Machine
JAKARTA - Google search engine starts entering short videos, where when users search for something then they will be shown the video from someone else's upload.
This gives TikTok a sense into its search engine. With these updates, Google aims to combine more videos and images into search results. This will enrich search results from various sources.
For example, if users search for the city of Oaxaca, Mexico, Google will display more relevant information, such as flight time, weather information and popular places.
In fact, users will also be presented with photos of local markets and videos uploaded by people to show how the streets of the city are.
Launching CNET, Thursday, September 29, this change in Google Search comes as the tech giant is competing with TikTok. The China-based ByteDance-owned app has recently become a search engine, with young users choosing TikTok to view videos about restaurants or other tourist destinations.
However, Google has not remained silent by launching YouTube Shorts in 2020 to overthrow the TikTok market, also starting a competitive program to attract content creators.
In its Search On 2022 event, Google also launched a new feature for Lens, how to find information with photos or cell phone cameras.
Companies make Lens stronger where users can see information about the area around them in real time using just a cellphone.
For example, if people in Paris, they can use their cameras to look at the streets and see what types of restaurants are on the street or if there are ATMs, everything is in the augmented reality (AR) layer.
Likewise with food recommendations that are a priority in Search, with Google making it easier to find certain types of food or attract restaurants that suit a certain atmosphere.
Finally, the appearance of Immersive on Maps can also feature 3D from an area and give people an inside tour of what restaurants look like in it.
