The Increase In The Indonesian Effective Index In The World Bank Has Become A Large Capital
JAKARTA - Deputy V Presidential Chief of Staff Jaleswari Pramodhawardani said the increase in the government's effectiveness index in the indicators announced by the World Bank was a big capital for Indonesia to realize a world-class bureaucracy.
"Good governance services consisting of accountability, capacity, and government performance are key to competing at the global level," Jaleswari said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 29.
The World Bank (World Bank) on September 23, 2022, according to a statement from the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), released the World Governance Indicator, one of which consists of a Government Effectiveness Index or Government Effective Index. This indicator shows an assessment of the performance and effectiveness of the governments of countries in the world.
The World Bank said the Government's effectiveness score in Indonesia increased from 0.35 in 2020 to 0.38 in 2021 with a scale of -2.5 being the lowest to 2.5. The improvement in the score increased Indonesia's ranking to 64 from the previous 73rd out of 214 countries. Indonesia outperforms Italy, Poland, India, Mexico, Russia and Brazil.
According to Jaleswari, the increase in the effectiveness index at the World Bank is also a provision for the Indonesian government ahead of the summit of the G20 Summit, November 2022.
He said the Government's Effective Index should spur the government's bureaucratic apparatus to carry out bureaucratic reform.
In accordance with President Joko Widodo's directives, he said, bureaucratic reform must be carried out in a sustainable, massive, simultaneous manner at all levels of central and regional governments.
"In addition, benchmarking must also be carried out in public services, which are already good as an example so that other regional agencies can imitate it," said Jaleswari.
The government, said Jaleswari, has now formed a Task Force for the Acceleration of Bureaucratic Reform in the regions to support the priority bureaucratic reform agenda, namely the Public Service Mall (MPP), and the implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).
The Bureaucratic Reform Acceleration Task Force will synergize with the MPP Acceleration Team formed by the Secretariat of the Vice President and the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform to ensure that the target of forming 100 MPPs in 2022 and 150 MPPs in 2023 is achieved.
"The target is in accordance with the direction of the President and Vice President," he concluded.
