The UN Report Calls Ukraine Prisoners To Be Targeted For Implementation And Lowering Russian Troops And Its Afiliation

JAKARTA - Russian troops and their armed affiliates are said to have executed Ukrainian prisoners executed outside the legal process, subjected to sexual violence and other abuses, the United Nations human rights office said in a report on Tuesday.

The report, issued by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), found some rights violations by both sides in the conflict, but expressed special concern about the mistreatment of civilians and prisoners of war by Russian forces and its affiliated armed groups.

Russia and Ukraine did not immediately comment on the report, compiled between February 1 and July 31 and based on the work of the United Nations Human Rights Supervision Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU).

"The ongoing armed attacks by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and related hostilities have resulted in a dire human rights situation across the country. Armed conflict has led to various human rights abuses affecting civilians and combatants," the report said.

Rugner, head of HRMMU, said Ukrainian war prisoners pose a serious risk to their health and safety from Russian kidnappers and pro-Russian groups.

"They have been the target of cruel and demeaning treatment by Russian security forces and seemingly systematic affiliated armed groups," he said when announcing the report at a news conference in Kyiv.

particularCHR released its report days after the head of the UN-managed investigative agency, said Russia had committed war crimes including rape, torture, execution, to the repatriation of children in areas occupied by Ukraine.

This further explained that his party continues to document and verify allegations of extrajudicial murder against hundreds of civilians by the Russian armed forces in the areas of Kyiv, Sumy and Kharkiv, the territory previously occupied by Russian forces and is now back under Ukrainian control.

It said rights violations against Ukrainian soldiers included executions outside the legal process, sexual violence, court refusal to a shortage of food, water, and medical aid.

"Some of these offenses may include war crimes," the report said.

control also said it had documented at least six killings of civilians deemed a traitor, for allegedly collaborating with Russia in occupied territories.

It is known that both Russia and Ukraine have denied allegations of human rights violations.
