Cancelling Plan Against Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury Already Has A Substitute Opponent, Who Is He?

JAKARTA - Tyson Fury has confirmed his fight with Anthony Joshua has been cancelled. However, he already has a potential replacement opponent.

The British boxer will enter the boxing ring against German champion Manuel Charr.

Previously, Fury planned to fight Joshua in Cardiff on December 3. However, Joshua did not sign a contract until the deadline given by Fury.

The boxer nicknamed the Gypsy King then announced the name Charr as Joshua's replacement through the latest upload on Instagram.

"Waiting to fight a man who wants to fight and has passion and desire. Fighting with some of the best fighters and now needs to step up again. Get in there Charr," Fury wrote, reported by The Sun.

Charr has previously challenged Fury to a fight after claiming Anthony Joshua may withdraw from the planned fight.

"Greetings Alaikum, Tyson Fury. You know and I know that Anthony Joshua will not sign the sheet (contract) tomorrow. Accept my challenge. I am ready to fight you," Charr wrote on his social media.

Fury has previously lashed out at Joshua for not signing the fight contract by the set deadline. He called his compatriot an idiot and coward.

Promotor Still Trying For Fury vs Joshua

However, Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, insisted that he was still in discussions with the Fury team to make the planned fight happen.

Fury promoter, Frank Warren, also reportedly does not want The Gypsy King against Charr. Therefore, he still continued the conversation with Hearn.

"There has been no talk of a deadline between the two sides, but we are moving quickly to try and strike a deal," Hearn said.

In a previous report, Joshua actually wanted to sign the contract offered by Fury's camp on September 16. However, Hearn restrained his client from agreeing so quickly.
