The Status Of The Corruption Case Suspect For The COVID Fund, The Regent Of Flotim, Deactivated Paulus Igo Gerode From The Regional Secretary's Position

And as of Monday he was officially disabled," said East Flores Regent Doris Alexander Rihi when confirmed from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, Antara, Tuesday, September 27.In addition, the deactivation of the alleged corruption in COVID-19 funds was also carried out after a detention order was issued by the East Flores state prosecutor.When the detention letter against the alleged corruption from the Larantuka Kejari was received on Monday. The deactivation letter was also issued with his signature.Doris added that the deactivation of the PIG from the Regional Secretary's position was in accordance with Government Regulation Number 11 of 2017 and Government Regulation Number 17 of 2020 article 276 concerning Civil Servant Management.The deactivation of the PIG from the position of the Regional Secretary is also in accordance with the Regulation of the Head of the State Civil Service Administration Agency (Perka BAKN) number 3 of 2020 concerning procedures for temporarily dismissing officials.In addition to deactivating PIG as the East Flores regional secretary, the deactivation letter also came out of the East Flores Government for the Head of the East Flores Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Alfons H Betan (AHB) related to the same case.Previously, investigators of the corruption crime at the East Flores District Attorney's Office, East Nusa Tenggara, detained Regional Secretary Paulus Igo Gerode (PIG) who was a suspect in the alleged corruption case of funds for handling COVID-19 in 2020 with state losses of more than Rp. 1.5 billion.PIG is the Regional Secretary as well as the ex-officio Head of BPBD and the Chief Executive of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 in 2020. The suspect was charged with Article 2 subsidiary Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.In the case of alleged corruption in the use of funds for handling COVID-19 in 2020 in East Flores Regency, that according to the results of refocusing on budget activities and reallocations to accelerate the handling of COVID-19, BPBD received an allocation of unexpected expenditure funds amounting to Rp6,482,519,650 for disaster emergency handling.However, the process of applying for the disbursement of the unexpected budget by the East Flores BPBD was carried out not according to applicable regulations, then the unexpected budget was used and an accountability report was made without the support of valid evidence.Based on the Report on the Calculation of State Financial Losses from BPKP number PE.03.03/SR-294/PW24/5/2022 dated August 16, 2022 for alleged corruption in the management of COVID-19 funds at the BPBD of East Flores Regency in 2020 which was received by prosecutors on September 5, 2022, it was stated that there were irregularities that caused state financial losses of Rp. 1.5 billion.
