LPSK Send Team For Victim Protection In Sigi
JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) sent a team to process the protection and granting of rights for witnesses and victims of the attack in Lewono Lembantongoa, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, which allegedly occurred on Friday, November 27.
Deputy Chairperson of LPSK Achmadi said the team would identify victims or families of victims of the suspected terrorism act.
"There are services provided immediately after the occurrence of a criminal act of terrorism, such as medical assistance. The team also needs to study witnesses or victims in the interests of protection in the judicial process," said Achmadi, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 29.
The LPSK team is planned to be dispatched on Monday, November 30 to examine the conditions and needs of the victims. If the need for medical assistance is urgent, the LPSK can issue a guarantee letter as a guarantee for the medical costs of victims of criminal acts of terrorism.
In addition, LPSK maintains communication and coordinates with the Central Sulawesi Regional Police and related parties for the benefit of protection and the process of victim assistance services, such as medical assistance, psychological rehabilitation, psychosocial, compensation for the families of deceased victims and conducts an assessment for compensation in accordance with applicable regulations.
On Friday, November 27, eight strangers came to one of the residents' houses who entered through the back of the house and took less than 40 kilograms of rice.
The perpetrators of the violence that caused casualties in Sigi Regency are suspected to be the Poso East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) group.
