YOGYAKARTA - The Norwegian Ambassador to Indonesia Rutte Giverin considers the Special Region of Yogyakarta as a province capable of giving birth to prospective Indonesian leaders in the coming period."Yogyakarta for me is a place for young Indonesians who are educated and will become leaders in the future," said Giverin after meeting with Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X at Gedhong Wilis, Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta, Antara, Monday, September 26.According to Giverin, the enthusiasm of young people in the world of education in DIY indicates that there are indeed many potential leaders who are finalizing themselves in this special area.In Yogyakarta, according to him, young Indonesians gather and are trained before returning to their respective areas."Digodog is expected to return to their respective regions to become potential leaders. That is what I think is extraordinary and very important for the future of the younger generation in order to produce national leaders," he said.Not only that, according to Giverin, DIY is an area that is able to provide unique insights into the history of Java and Indonesia.He was also impressed by the preservation of Javanese culture that was maintained in DIY.Giverin admitted that she was amazed by several exotic places such as Prambanan, Yogyakarta Palace, Taman Sari, Malioboro and others."I am impressed how Javanese culture is still maintained. That is the identity of a nation that is maintained," said Giverin, who has been in DIY since Saturday (23/09).After visiting Indonesia for the last 21 years ago, according to him, many things have changed in DIY, but many remain the same."The visit to Yogya has been one of my top priorities since I arrived in Indonesia as ambassador one year ago," he said.Meanwhile, Sri Sultan welcomed Giverin's visit to DIY.According to Sultan, there is indeed cooperation that should be established with Norway, but it is hampered by the pandemic."I say, if one of the investors from Norway really wants to invest in Yogyakarta in the field of fisheries, but because the pandemic continues until now it has not been (realized)," said Sultan HB X.
