Tyson Vs Roy Jones Comeback Duel Ends Draw
JAKARTA - Mike Tyson's comeback duel against Roy Jones Jr. at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, Saturday, November 28 local time or Sunday, November 29 WIB ended in a draw.
As reported by Antara, at the age of 54 years, Tyson appeared aggressive, fast, and swung more punches towards Jones's body. Meanwhile, Jones (51) occasionally hit and then avoided or embraced Tyson in each of the two-minute rounds.
A hard left fist hit Jones in the second round. The third and fourth rounds are mostly used by Jones and Tyson to defend and attack each other at the opponent's body.
In the fifth round, Concrete Necks landed a hard blow to Jones's head. He kept trying to get close to Jones's body with several solid punches to the right and left in the sixth round.
Meanwhile Jones dodged the top right and grabbed Tyson before he landed a combination shot.
Tyson returned to attack Jones's midsection in the seventh round, but Jones always avoided and was able to escape the attack.
Entering the eighth and final round, Tyson unleashed a pair of left hooks, but Jones tried to tie him up and they exchanged punches inside.
In the end, the jury decided that the fight between the two former world champions of boxing ended without a winner.
"This is greater than a fight for the championship. I'm currently helping others, "said Tyson.
Meanwhile, Jones, who looked exhausted, was not happy with the draw.
"I've never been happy with a draw. I didn't draw," said Jones, admitting that Tyson hurt him throughout the match, especially with punches to the body.
