A Young Man In Ponorogo Marries Grandmother, 76 Years Old
JAKARTA - A 29-year-old young man named Ali Nusyahid suddenly became famous throughout Ponorogo and became a trending topic in a number of social media groups after marrying a 76-year-old grandmother who he just met in a traditional market in Slahung, Ponorogo, East Java.
Ali, who lives farming everyday, is currently living happily at home with Yainem, the wife he married in a simple consent procession at the bride's house in Dusun Bandungan, Slahung, Ponorogo.
The process of introducing him to the level of marriage between Ali Nursyahid and Yainem was relatively short.
As Ali told the media crew, he met his beloved heart in October, about a month ago.
"Yes, at first it was fun too. Going to the market, I continued to meet her mother immediately. I asked her whether she wanted it or not. If you want, please continue. Thank God," Ali said.
This young man from Mrayan Village, Ngrayun Subdistrict, Ponorogo admits that he does not care that his marriage to a woman who is 47 years apart is the subject of gossip.
For him, if he feels stable, he will live this household life happily.
Even during the wedding ceremony, all of the relatives attended. Likewise the neighbors and even village officials. There was a scene with the wedding. But Ali actually felt happy.
"It's up to people to say what. The important thing is we are happy. Hopefully I (can) guide the family," he said.
Confirmed separately, the head of the Slahung Religious Affairs Office (KUA), Tajul Mujahidin also admitted that he was impressed by Ali-Yainem's marriage.
He said that during his tenure as the head of the KUA since 2014, this is the first time that he has encountered the phenomenal event of marrying a couple who are almost half a century apart.
"As for marriage coaching, if the age is so (76 years) with that age (29 years) some say it can be difficult," he said.
Therefore, after getting married, Tajul Mujahidin advised the bride and groom to equalize their perceptions.
But apparently Yainem looks so happy. "After we interviewed him, he was happy that his mother (Yainem) had friends at home. In fact, from each background there is a difference (age)," said Tajul.
He also prayed, I hope this couple of different ages will be happy in having a family life.
Tajul Mujahidin ensured that Ali-Yainem's marriage was legal both in religion and by state law.
"Their marriage has been registered at the KUA Slahung. All requirements have also been met. And it just so happens that Mrs. Yainem does not have any siblings, so I, as the head of the KUA, become the guardian," he said.
