Instagram Now Allows You To Post Stories Up To 60 Seconds
JAKARTA - Instagram is rolling out a new capability that allows users to post stories for longer durations.
Initially, Meta introduced this capability early last year to some users, but now, the company has launched it to all users.
So, 60 seconds of video will not now be divided into several stories, aka Instagram letting you post stories with longer durations of up to 60 seconds.
We're always looking for ways to improve the Stories experience. Now, you can play and make Stories continuous for up to 60 seconds, instead of automatically cutting it to 15 seconds of clips," a Meta spokesperson told TechCrunch via email.
According to VOI monitoring, when you open the Instagram app and try to post stories with a duration of more than 15 seconds, you will see pop-ups appear on your screen.
The pop-up reads: "Introducing a longer story. The 60-second video will no longer be divided into several segments."
This isn't the only Meta update to extend the video duration last June, Meta added support for Instagram Reels that took up to 90 seconds longer, than the previous one was only 60 seconds.
Instagram also recently made changes to a system that saw new video posts that lasted less than 15 minutes were automatically shared as Reels.
The changes that come on Instagram are not too surprising, looking at the statement from the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri who said he would prioritize video content on Instagram.
