Satpol PP Surabaya Already Has A Map Of Student Brawling, Saban Night Patrol
JAKARTA - The Surabaya City Satpol PP, East Java is intensifying joint patrols every night. They go around to places where there is the potential for brawls between students.
The Head of Surabaya City Satpol PP, Eddy Christijanto, said that this patrol was followed from relevant agencies to the ranks, including the Satpol PP, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the TNI, Polri, the Transportation Service, and the Social Service.
"This joint patrol is attended by more than 20 personnel. We go around places that have the potential to be prone to brawls every night," said Eddy, Saturday, September 24, quoted from Antara.
His party admitted that they already have regional maps that have the potential to become student places or youth brawls. A number of areas are also the focus of monitoring patrols of their staff every night.
A number of these areas include Indrapura Street, Dupak Street, Tanjung Sari Street, Banyu Urip Street, Kedungdoro Street, Diponegoro Street, Wonorejo Street, Kenjeran Street, Kedung Cowek Street, Pogot Street, Wonokusumo Street, Kaliondo Street, Kapasan Street to Undaan Street Surabaya.
"So we have mapped the vulnerable points that often appear. In fact, on Jalan Upa Jiwa Ngagel, this has never happened before," he said.
Based on the information gathered, the brawl between students that occurred on Jalan Upa Jiwa on Thursday (22/9) night, was initially caused by an argument or ridicule each other through social media. The brawl incident was inevitable.
From this incident, joint officers secured 16 school students for questioning. Meanwhile, two other people who were victims were also given treatment.
"Because two victims were injured, we immediately directed the perpetrators of the brawl to the Wonokromo Police. So they were immediately handled by the APH (Law Enforcement Official) because there were victims," he said again.
Finding this, Eddy also invites parents to care for each child. For him, parents have an important role to play to ensure that children are in a safe condition.
"For example, when it's 21.00 WIB, the child is not at home, so parents have to call where they are and ask to go home immediately. If the child cannot be contacted, then parents can contact their child's closest friend," he said.
Several times during a coordination meeting, Eddy had conveyed to the sub-district head to forward it to parents to pay attention to their children. Because, the security and protection of children is also a shared responsibility.
"So it is the responsibility of all. Whether it's the government, parents, teachers, or the environment, they must help each other in order to protect children and create peace and order," said Eddy.
