KPK Appoints Cimahi Mayor Ajay Muhammad Priatna To Be Suspected Of Corruption In Bribery For Hospital Construction

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially named the mayor of Cimahi, Ajay Muhammad Priatna as a suspect in a corruption case related to the construction permit for the Kasih Bunda General Hospital.

This was said by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri. He said that apart from Ajay, the KPK also named another suspect, namely the Commissioner of the Kasih Bunda Hospital, Hutama Yonathan.

"The KPK has named two suspects, namely Ajay Muhammad Priatna as the recipient of the bribe and Hutama as the giver of the bribe," Firli said at the KPK building, South Jakarta, Saturday, November 28.

In this case, Ajay is suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 and / or Article 12 B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crime.

Meanwhile, Hutama is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments. On Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crime.

Currently, Ajay and Hutama are detained by detention centers for the first 20 days starting from November 28, 2020 to December 17, 2020.

"The detention of Ajay in the state detention center at the Central Jakarta Metro Police and Hutama at Polda Metro Jaya," said Firli.

As is known, the KPK conducted a hand arrest operation on Ajay and 10 other people on Friday, November 27, 2020 at around 10.40 WIB in several places, namely Bandung and Cimahi, West Java.

This arrest is related to a criminal act of corruption in the form of receiving and or gifts or promises by state officials regarding licensing for the Kasih Bunda Hospital in Cimahi City for the 2018-2020 Fiscal Year.
