Sentenced 4 Years And Revocation Of Political Rights In The Case Of Bribe Auditors Of The BPK, Ade Yasin Banding
BOGOR - The inactive Bogor Regent Ade Yasin through his attorney, Dinalara Butar Butar, appealed after the panel of judges sentenced him to 4 years in prison for the BPK auditor bribery case."Of course we have filed an appeal. From the start, I have said that the defendant was sentenced to 1 day and we will continue to defend our legal action because the defendant is innocent," said Dinanalara Butar after the verdict hearing at the Bandung Corruption Court, West Java, Antara, Friday, September 23.Dinalara Butar considers the judge to have ruled out the facts of the trial because as many as 39 witnesses were presented by the prosecutor and two expert witnesses gave statements that Ade Yasin was not involved."A total of 39 witnesses with two expert witnesses were not taken into consideration at all. We are very disappointed. Maybe all media have witnessed the trial, not a single witness said that Mrs. Ade was involved," said the lecturer at Pakuan University. Moreover, he continued, during the trial there was not a single piece of evidence owned by the prosecutor to prove Ade Yasin's involvement. The reason is, Ade Yasin was not caught in a sting operation (OTT), but was picked up at his residence for questioning for the arrest of several employees of the Bogor Regency Government."Because it is true that the defendant was brought in for questioning and is not committing a crime. The pick-up of the defendant on April 27, 2022 at 03.00 WIB at his residence was only for questioning," he said. The panel of judges chaired by Hera Kartiningsih sentenced Ade Yasin to 4 years in prison and revoked Ade Yasin's political rights for 5 years. "Declare guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption together," said Hera. The panel of judges considered that Ade Yasin legally violated Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code jo. Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code."The funds that will be dropped are seen from the interests, considering that (Ade Yasin) committing corruption is still serving as the Regent of Bogor, as the Regent of Bogor must give a good example of corruption," he said.
