JAKARTA - Online prostitution cases are still rife. Not long ago, the police revealed the case again in this manner at the Sunlight Sunter Hotel, North Jakarta, on Wednesday, November 25 evening.

After being arrested, they were immediately examined. Both admitted their actions and said that the practice of prostitution was taking place in one of the rooms.

"After investigating the two pimps, the Tanjung Priok police officers raided the hotel room," Sudjarwoko told reporters, Friday, November 27.

During the raid, officers found three people who were in the room, including one man and two women. They were examined, as a result it was discovered that the two women were celebrities and artists with the initials ST and MY.

"At the time of their arrest, it turned out that these two women were doing immoral activities in the way of two women, one male which is commonly called a threesome," he said.

So, the five people were immediately taken to the Police for further information. Two days after the disclosure, the police finally announced that AR and AC, who were pimps, were suspects. They are suspected of being involved in trafficking in persons.

As for ST, MY and the masher man until now only confirmed as witnesses. But it is not impossible if they will be named suspects, as long as they fulfill the evidence and criminal investigation.

From the examination, it was also revealed the rates that were priced to rent ST and MY as dates. Celebrities and artists are each charged Rp.30 million for one date.

"The two women get paid Rp. 30 million. For 2 people Rp. 60 million," said Sudjarwoko.

However, that amount was not the full rate the masher had to pay. Because, the two pimps set a price of Rp110 million, the remaining Rp50 million was allocated for them.

In fact, the two pimps claim to have been in the online prostitution business for one year. They said there were four public figures who were made as comfort women.

Based on this confession, the police continued to study it. The goal is to find out the two public figures involved in the network.

"Under the two pimps there are actually four (artists) but they are still being investigated to make arrests," he said.

Two suspects pimping artist prostitution charged under Article 2 paragraph 1 of Law Number 21 of 2007 subsidiary to Article 296 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 506 of the Criminal Code.

Online prostitution cases are nothing new. In 2020, there will be at least two disclosures of this case.

The Lampung Police have also revealed an online prostitution case involving an artist on July 28. Film Television (FTV) artist Vernita Syabilla, who was caught in this case, was arrested at a hotel in Bandar Lampung along with two pimps.

Kapolresta Bandar Lampung Kombes Yan Budi Jaya said, in this case two pimps with the initials MK and MAZ were named suspects. Meanwhile, Vernita Syabilla was only used as a witness.

In this case, the police confiscated evidence of Rp. 30 million in cash. But the money is separated into two in the form of transfer and cash.

"Half of it is in cash, while the remaining Rp15 million is in the form of proof of transfer," he said.

Similarly, the Medan Police have also revealed cases of online prostitution. This time, the Film Television (FTV) artist Hana Hanifah is said to be a woman who satisfies the lust of a masher.

Kapolrestabes Medan Kombes Riko Sunarko said that online prostitution took place at a hotel in the Medan area on July 12. Hana was secured with a man.

During the raid process, Hana was said to be in a state of not wearing clothes. Meanwhile, the man with the initials R is still wearing clothes.

The results of the examination indicated that Hana was involved in an online prostitution network. He was marketed to the masher pimps.

In addition, for one date with Hana, pimps set a price of tens of millions. This is known based on the results of the examination.

With the practice of online prostitution still rampant, the question arises why there are so many enthusiasts?

Criminal law expert at the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) Prof. Mudzakir said that one of the reasons there are still many enthusiasts is because masher does not have to bother choosing the woman he wants to date.

With the existence of online prostitution, masher men only need to contact pimps and ask the woman according to their wishes.

"Because it is easy to get, you can select the desired face or stature, skin color and appearance," said Mudzakir.

Another reason is that online prostitution usually uses clean places. This is different from public prostitution, which tends to be in a slum or remote area.

"(Another reason) is closed and tidy. Apart from that, in general it is also not slum," he said.

Added, Criminologist from the University of Indonesia (UI) Ferdinand Andi Lolo said there were other reasons. In fact, it is probably the main reason johns choose online prostitution services.

Said Ferdinand, the main reason is confidentiality. The masher does not have to worry about his immoral actions being known to many people. Because, immoral acts are carried out very closed and only the perpetrators know about it.

"Confidentiality, customers do not need to be seen in public places or certain places that are physically visible. Transactions are only between customers and intermediaries and can only be known if a digital trace is carried out," he said.
