JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya officers shot dead a cell phone (cellphone) robber who was suspected of having frequently been involved in the East Jakarta and Bekasi areas. This was done because the perpetrators fought back when they were about to be arrested.

After seeing his partner collapse, the other perpetrators gave up without a fight. The perpetrator who has been firmly cracked down by the police is known to have the initials JCP (19) who played the role of the mastermind of the gang.

Meanwhile, the other suspects with the initials SNF (18) and MSH (18) played a role in threatening the victim and confiscating his valuables. Then A (16) and IZ (16) who acted as jockeys.

The police are also still pursuing a perpetrator with the initials D for his role as a jockey who often acts with the JCP.

Yusri also said that the plot had also gone viral on social media. The viral action of the perpetrators was when someone was holding someone in an alley with a sharp weapon and then took their cellphone.

"Someone went viral when they entered the alley, asked for the address, then one put the sickle and immediately took the cellphone, these are the perpetrators," said Yusri.

Based on the officers' investigation, there were six locations where they acted, namely Bekasi, Duren Sawit, Jatiasih, Pondok Gede and Penggilingan.

"This is a specialist group of thievery with violence, there are thieves who usually steal and then run away, but they do not use sharp weapons, every time they move with sickness and do not hesitate to take action on victims when victims fight back, so this group is somewhat sadistic," he added.

Yusri also said that there was a victim who tried to fight back, but ended up suffering a wound on his hand as a result of the sharp weapon of the perpetrator, fortunately the wound was not too severe so that he could recover after being hospitalized.

As a result of their actions, the suspects were charged under Article 365 of the Criminal Code, which deals with violent theft with the threat of a prison sentence of 9 years.
