LIB Expects Polri To Issue Competition Permits No Later Than The End Of December

JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) hopes that the permit to operate the Indonesian League 1 and 2 from the Indonesian National Police (Polri) can be issued by the end of December this year.

"We ask that if it is possible at the end of December 2020 there is certainty so that clubs have time to prepare. Right now, players are still everywhere," said President Director of PT LIB Akhmad Hadian Lukita to Antara, Friday, November 27. .

According to Akhmad Hadian, the request was officially submitted by LIB when he met the Head of the Police Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam), Komjen Pol. Agus Andrianto Tuesday this week.

If the permit is issued in December 2020, clubs will have at least one month to prepare a squad, continued Akhmad.

Thus, all teams participating in League 1 and League 2 can perform at their best when the competition starts next February.

Akhmad is optimistic that the National Police permit will be issued at the maximum this December because there is no national grand agenda for January and February 2021.

However, if December just passed without any decision about the league, LIB will have difficulties because they have to rearrange the league schedule.

"If the permit is issued, for example at the end of January 2021, the new league can start in March 2021. LIB has not prepared for that," said Akhmad.

League 1 and 2 Indonesia will roll back again starting February 2021 after being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The competition season changed its name from the 2020 season to the 2020-2021 season. League 1 is projected to roll out from February to July 2021, while League 2 starts from February to the end of March / early April 2021.
