Even Though There Is An Electronic Cross, Polantas Can Still Act Manually, How Come?
JAKARTA - Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya said that the abolition of manual ticketing in the Jakarta area, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jadetabek) could not be carried out this year. Not all roads are equipped with electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) cameras.
"There are still several roads that have not been installed by ETLE, it must be manual surveillance," said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Latif Usman, Thursday, September 22, quoted from Antara.
The plan to abolish the manual ticket is expected to make traffic law enforcement transparent and reduce potential violations by traffic police officers.
"So that there is no longer any abuse of authority, and transparency in law enforcement can be realized," he said.
Furthermore, when confirmed regarding the manual ticket removal target, Latif said that the discussion could only begin after the ETLE system was deemed adequate.
"The target is as soon as possible, if all of them are supported. This year we can't because we need a budget, we need planning," he said.
The Traffic Police Corps currently operates 270 static ETLE cameras, 806 mobile ETLE cameras, and 58 speed monitoring cameras (speed scams) throughout Indonesia.
Currently, there are developments and updates in the form of ETLE mobile device, namely electronic devices that are used by portable and mobile. The mobile device system is divided into three, namely ETLE mobile on board, ETLE mobile hand hold, and ETLE mobile apps.
ETLE mobile on board is a portable ETLE camera that can record traffic breaches at vulnerable points that are not covered by static ETLE.
Meanwhile, ETLE mobile hand hold is a smart electronic device that functions as a capture tool for traffic violations that are directly integrated with national ETLE data.
According to the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the presence of ETLE throughout Indonesia is expected to encourage the ranks of the Korlantas Polri to improve their best service to the community and make Korlantas better in the future.
