Foreigners In Riau Islands Who Are Cross-Traffic Unable To Log Out Before Pay Fines
JAKARTA - Ditlantas Polda Kepulauan Riau (Kepri) in collaboration with the Immigration Office Class I Special for Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) Batam took action against foreigners who violated traffic while driving motorized vehicles on the road.
This action was first taken in line with the inauguration of the use of electronic ticketing (ETLE) which has now taken effect in Batam City.
Previously there was no Batam area, this is the first time. We made this breakthrough with the form of taking action against traffic violations committed by foreign nationals, when the foreigner carried out activities on the legal roads of the Riau Islands Police, especially Batam City," said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Riau Islands Police, Kombes Tri Yulianto in Batam, Thursday, September 22, quoted from Antara.
Tri explained, technically, if the foreigner is found to have committed a violation, he will not be able to leave the area from Batam before completing his obligations.
"The foreigner will later be disbursed by Immigration officers at the TPI at the exit, if he has not completed his obligation to pay the traffic violation evidence, and the Batam District Court will decide with a maximum fine," said Dirlantas.
However, Tri said that this implementation is still in the testing phase and will be re-evaluated for its improvement.
The implementation of ETLE will be carried out starting today for the next 30 days, still in the testing phase. After 30 days, we will take action," he said.
Head of the Class I Immigration Office Special for TPI Batam Subki Miuldi added that his party is currently discussing a memorandum of understanding with the Riau Islands Police for technical purposes in the field.
"So it's not complete yet, but at this time what has just been discussed about the provision of foreign data that violates immigration," said Subki.
