JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives approved the budget ceiling of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) of IDR 624 billion for 2023. One of the reasons for this budget approval is to provide protection for Indonesia from cyber attacks, such as hacker Bjorka.The defense commission said the country was 'common' hit by cyber terror ahead of the ratification of the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP)."Commission I of the DPR RI approved the budget allocation ceiling or commonly known as the definitive ceiling of the 2023 RAPBN BSSN Rp624,371,483,000," said Deputy Chairman of Commission I DPR Utut Adianto when reading the draft conclusions at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Thursday, September 22.Utut detailed that the budget is to meet the needs of two programs. Namely, the management of state cyber and passwords amounted to Rp407,146,873,000 (Rp407 billion) and the state security and resilience program amounting to Rp217,224,610.000 (Rp217 billion)."Furthermore, Commission I of the DPR will convey to the DPR's Budget Agency that it can be followed up in accordance with the mechanism for procedures and statutory provisions," said Utut.The ratification of the BSSN budget also coincides with the ratification of the Sea Security Agency (Bakamla) budget."Thus, we will raise the budget for BSSN and Bakamla," said Utut, followed by a knock on the hammer as approval.Responding to the BSSN budget approval which reached Rp624 billion in 2023, the Head of BSSN Hinsa Siburian stated that he accepted the budget ceiling decision. He also thanked Commission I of the DPR for approving the morning budget for the institution he leads."We thank you for the support so far.
